Recent floods across Kenya have tragically claimed 42 lives since Friday, with Nairobi suffering the heaviest losses at 26 fatalities, according to official reports. Public Health Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku confirmed these numbers in a statement on Sunday. He released the figures after a multi-agency emergency team completed a countywide assessment to gauge the disaster’s full impact. Nairobi City County saw the highest death toll, which included 21 adult men, three adult women, and three male children. In the Eastern region, officials reported 10 deaths, including eight people in Makueni County and two children in Kitui County.
